Planting techniques of Lily
Lily is a perennial flower with both beauty and fragrance. It also implies auspiciousness and a happy marriage for a hundred years. It is a popular fresh cut flower in the world. It has a wide variety and diverse colors. Its planting techniques are as follows:
It likes to be wet, but it is not resistant to waterlogging. Too much water is easy to rot roots, so it is necessary to choose loose and breathable soil and containers. It likes light but is afraid of strong light and heat. The most suitable growth temperature is 15-25 degrees, so it is suitable for planting in the Yangtze River Basin and most northern areas. Proper shade shall be provided in summer. It propagates with bulbs and even cuttings with each bulb. Close to spring, bury the bulb in the soil to a depth of 1.5 times the bulb height, and then cover the soil without watering and fertilization, because the water and nutrition of the bulb itself are enough for its germination and growth. If there is too much water, the bulb will rot, and the fertilizer will not be absorbed by the bulb with little absorption capacity, but produce fertilizer damage. In spring, it begins to germinate and bloom from July to September. If the bulbs are hypertrophy and management is in place, a tree can open 3-5 flowers. Nitrogen fertilizer is used at the initial stage of growth, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is used at the time of fast flowering. After flowering, the stems are cut off, and the bulbs are retained for cyclic reproduction. If well managed, there will be more than one bulb, and many small bulbs can be produced. Because its rhizome will produce many sub bulbs in the future, the planting container shall choose a deeper basin as far as possible to facilitate the reproduction and extension of sub bulbs
